Mixed media on baltic birch. Measures 4’x8’.
This piece was a three month project exploring transmutation and acceptance of loss. It's not acceptance through resignation. It's acceptance without closing the heart. The arms remain open. Love is still welcome. Grief is still allowed. Nothing has to be denied, suppressed, or pushed away to make room for peace. There’s an important distinction in upekkhā: equanimity isn't the absence of feeling. It's the ability to feel deeply without being ruled by what you feel.
Grief without resistance. Love without possession. Acceptance without surrendering tenderness.
